Asheville Humane Society Appoints New Director of Fundraising and Engagement

We are delighted to announce that Laresa Griffin has been appointed the new Director of Fundraising and Engagement at Asheville Humane Society.

With her extensive experience and unwavering dedication to the nonprofit sector, Laresa Griffin brings a wealth of expertise to our organization. Having actively pursued a career in nonprofit fundraising for over 16 years, Laresa has consistently demonstrated her ability to bridge the gap between a donor’s passions and the needs of nonprofit organizations. Her commitment to philanthropy and understanding of the unique challenges animal welfare organizations face make her an invaluable addition to our team.

A native of Western North Carolina, Laresa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Montreat College. Throughout her professional journey, she has cultivated a deep appreciation for the community and the causes she serves. Laresa draws inspiration from her husband, Robert, and daughter, Haley, who share her commitment to positively impacting the world. Additionally, she is a proud pet parent to Petey Pup and Raggedy Andy (dogs), and Lucy and Ethel (cats).

We would also like to express our gratitude to Jim Fulton, our long-time employee, for his outstanding contributions as Director of Fundraising and Engagement.

Jim will be transitioning to the role of Senior Manager of Stewardship, where his skills and expertise will continue to benefit Asheville Humane Society tremendously.

“I am thrilled to welcome Laresa Griffin as the new Director of Fundraising and Engagement,” says Jim Fulton. “Her passion and ability to connect donors with meaningful causes are exceptional. I have complete confidence in her ability to significantly impact the lives of animals in need, and I’m excited to continue supporting the organization in my new role. I look forward to working closely with Laresa to continue our mission.”

Please join us in welcoming Laresa Griffin to her new role and thanking Jim Fulton for his dedication and ongoing commitment to our organization. We look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead!
