We use SnuggleSafe microwave heating pads to keep our most vulnerable patients warm and we'd love your help!
The fleece covers that come with these discs tend to fall apart because we have to wash them so often and we would love for volunteers to make new ones for us to use! These discs are nine inches in diameter and just under an inch in height. Fleece is an ideal cover because it's thick enough to protect the babies from too much heat and just a bit stretchy so it fits snuggly on the pad. A simple pillow sham-type closure on the back is ideal, but zippered, Velcro, or button closures would work as well. We do not currently have a pattern for this sewing project, but searching SnuggleSafe cover online reveals lots of ideas!
We can provide a limited amount of fleece if you're willing to make these covers but need fleece! Please email email@example.com to request fleece.
If you do help create covers for our heating pads, we would love for you to drop them off at the Adoption Center (14 Forever Friend Lane) any time! We have a donation table in the front of the building and we collect donations from this area several times each day. If you would like a donation receipt, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
