Foster Orientation
Join us at the Asheville Humane Society Adoption Center for our foster orientation event! Whether you're an experienced foster parent or new to fostering, this is the perfect opportunity to learn more about our program and become part of our foster community.

During this in-person event, you’ll have the chance to meet our dedicated Placement Coordinator, ask questions, and get all the information you need to start fostering adorable animals in need. We’ll provide insights on how to care for foster pets and offer support throughout your fostering journey.

FAQs
You can park in any open parking space at the Adoption Center or the Buncombe County Animal Shelter located right next door. Please leave the spaces reserved for foster parents OPEN for established fosters showing up for their appointments.
Head towards the main entrance of the red adoption center building; on the porch, to the right-hand side, you’ll see a set of double doors. Go through those doors and find a place to sit!
We are always excited when fostering is a family affair! While orientation needs to be attended by a legal adult, we encourage kids to be a part of the fostering experience and attend orientation! Please reserve one ticket per family member attending.
No problem – we know life happens! Simply shoot an email to foster@ashevillehumane.org and let us know, or cancel from your confirmation email. We’ll work with you to get you signed up for the next available orientation.
